7 Lakes cross-country
(Sulev): we were given the opportunity and it was a great pleasure for us to take part in one of the most beautiful off-road cross-country races in Estonia, which is called "7 Lakes cross-country".
There are different opinions, but it seems to me that now is the best of our four seasons. A crisp autumn morning. Wind chill. The most beautiful colour combinations in the world. Roads winding up through the trees, up through the roots and down. Tiny lakes of stunning beauty. This is not a "head down" race. It's much more than that.
It's incredible to think that it's been 10 years since the first 7 Lakes cross-country race! But so they write on their website that the first event took place in 2014. We were there then too. Who would have thought back then that the (old) Tartu road would have such beautiful tracks.
This year, both the organisers and the participants were lucky enough with the weather. We couldn't have asked for better. I know, because I went and rode.
If the 'mainstream media' doesn't talk about anything other than gravel today, I can wholeheartedly confirm that gravel is also very cool, but classic MTB hasn't gone away. I didn't see a single curved lens. Nice.
Thanks!
